Kent Hospital recently hosted its annual Evening of Hope at the Dunes Club in Narragansett, welcoming more than 300 guests for a night of inspiration, delicious cuisine, and community connection. The event raised over $269,000 in support of vital upgrades to Kent’s Emergency Department, including advanced equipment and infrastructure improvements.

The evening also honored Edward J. Cooney, Jr. as the 2025 Jonathan K. Farnum Outstanding Philanthropist and Dr. Jinen Thakkar as the 2025 President’s Award for Community Care recipient. As the second largest emergency department in Rhode Island—and the only in the state to earn Silver-Level 2 Geriatric Emergency Department Accreditation—Kent remains a leader in high-quality, compassionate emergency care.
